About Marcus:
MY BEGINNINGS
Growing up I always had an affinity for the arts. I began to act, sing, and dance starting when I was old enough to remember stage directions! I loved being involved at my local church and theater where I performed in numerous plays, productions, and dances. During this time, from kindergarten to eighth grade, I also attended an Arts school and was immersed in all aspects of the performing arts. By the sixth grade I had already fallen in love with dance. I chose dance as my art major and began to train in Ballet, Modern and Jazz for the next 3 years. During those 3 years I was given opportunities to perform in multiple dance concerts and plays to execute the choreography given to me.
THE NEXT LEVEL
Upon entering High School, I chose to take my dancing to the next level by joining a competition studio to pursue more rigorous training. My 9th grade year I took a few foundational and technical classes. By 10th grade year I had joined my studio’s Hip Hop competition team, and then I finished my last two years of high school as company member on the competition team. During this season I trained and competed in many styles of dance and gratefully received multiple accolades. scholarships, titles, and opportunities. These opportunities included performing alongside dance groups within the nationally touring dance conventions. Following my studio and High School graduation I attended the University of Central Florida to pursue a Bachelor’s in Entertainment Management. I was a member of the NBA’s Orlando Magic Hip Hop crew “The 407” for two full seasons. I trained in many types of stunt combat and acting, and was cast as Jason Bourne, the lead role in Universal Orlando’s the “Bourne Stuntacular. I had also been selected to perform in Universal Orlando’s Durmstrang Institute; a stage combat show inspired by the Bo Staff wielding wizards in Harry Potter. I would travel to many dance studios to teach and choreograph. In between traveling to studios I picked up photography as a skill to aid in my own headshots, photo shoots and video work. Today I still enjoy capturing those moments for myself and others in the entertainment industry and have grown so much in my knowledge of this kind of art.
MY LIFE TODAY
I now live in Dallas, TX where I am on company with Zion Dance Project. I work hard and train harder in every aspect of the visual and performing arts. I thrive in the DFW metroplex as a photographer and videographer capturing the beauty of those in the arts as well as those special moments we all seek to cherish forever. My creative eyes give me a competitive edge in this area. I am in good standing with SAG AFTRA as I continue my stunt career. I couldn’t be more grateful as it is a blessing to see how each one my professions have come together to form this all-inclusive, one stop shop, production company!
