Episode 62: Jocelyn Lewis

What a gift to catch up with my sweet friend, Jocelyn Lewis, for episode 62! Jocelyn and I met during our time dancing with Ad Deum II Dance Company. She has such a beautiful heart for the Lord, for community, and for creating with a purpose.

Jocelyn shares about her journey training as a dancer, her professional dance career, and her current work teaching dance. We look at the impact of beginning her professional career at the young age of twelve and how she developed a heart for ministering through dance. Jocelyn and I talk about the power of dance to bring light to the darkness, whether that is through performance or teaching. We also dive into the topics of community, family, health (body, mind, and spirit), and more!

About Jocelyn:

Jocelyn Lewis was born, raised and lives in Edmond, Oklahoma. She began dancing at the age of six and still continues to pursue dance as her passion and calling for over twenty years of her life now. She is married to her childhood best friend, Micah Lewis, son of Jeff Lewis with Arrows International. Jocelyn and Micah have two kids, Quinn and Phoebe. Jocelyn has glorified the Lord with her dance since day one.

Jocelyn grew up training in all styles of dance and was an award winning competitive dancer for almost a decade. She began her professional dance career at the early age of twelve.  She then learned what using her dance for ministry was all about her Freshman year of high school, this ignited a flame in Jocelyn that will never burnout. She began ministering and dancing with Arrows International, directed by Jeff and Natalie Lewis.

Following high school, Jocelyn continued her training with Ad Deum Dance Company, directed by Randall Flinn for two seasons. This is when she began to discover a calling to teach and share the love of her gift, dance, through more than just performing. She is still teaching now, and continues to look forward to the many years of sharing her love of dance and Jesus to the world. Jocelyn continues to exemplify and encourage ways on how to use these gifts together, to show the JOY we find of living for Jesus to others.
