Episode 36: Amanda Winslett

Amanda Winslett is a wife and the mother of two boys. She is passionate about music and dance and has been a Zumba instructor for almost 7 years. Her love of music grew out of her positive experiences in choir growing up. She now serves as a vocalist for her church’s worship team.

Amanda shares her incredible testimony. She grew up in an abusive family situation and then found herself in a similar situation as an adult. She shares the story of finding the courage to leave that relationship and how God has brought healing into her life. We talk about the power of words – that words can bring life or destruction.

Recently, Amanda went back to school for ministry. She has a heart for reaching other women to help empower them in their journey. I love how she uses whatever realm she finds herself in, whether teaching Zumba, her work with Mary Kay, or her worship ministry, to be able to reach and touch the lives of others. I love what Amanda says in our conversation, “God’s not calling me to be perfect, He’s calling me to be on purpose.”
